First degree in engineering before studying a masters in statistics / stochastic processes. Afterwards, in Scotland at least, there was no job for me in my chosen field of study. And those that were available was offering a pittance of a salary combined with a cost of living that made no sense.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostThe casual observer might wonder just why the likes of you and scooter have become so animated on the whole issue of Brexit. After all, you have both long since scarpered abroad, presumably in some vain attempt to "better yourselves".
An engineering firm in Germany contacted me offering an opportunity in my chosen field of study. Not because it was a requirement but because they wanted to know about their product.
So yeah, excuse me for wanting to 'better myself' in my chosen field rather than submit to the rat-race with the belief I'll be given some reward in the winter of my life upon retirement."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". That's not what I said. I said economics of it made no sense. I had work but then a house was going to cost 9 times my annual income. In what universe does that make sense, not one I've living in.Originally posted by GB9 View PostSo couldn't get a job in the UK.
