VAT on sale to USA (where I am selling more that for 10 000GBP to USA?

    Hello.
Hope someone will be able to help me.
I am selling some staff to USA (via ebay shop) and I am VAT reginstered.
I know that I do not need to add VAT on top of sale to USA but I am not sure if I do not need to reginster for VAT in USA (or similar tax there) if I will sell for more than 10 000 or 60 000GBP? (I know that some countries have got limits). For example is someone from EU is selling to UK for more than 70 000GBP then even if he is VAT reginstered in his country he must reginster for VAT in UK as well.
    Please help.
Is something like that in USA and CANADA?

The EU is different as VAT is harmonised.

If your exporting to the US then you don't need to register for VAT across the pond as they have no jurisdiction over you.

Then again IANAL and this advice is probably worthless.

Also worth pointing out, but I think the sale of goods to the US are zero-rated, rather than out of the scope of UK VAT. If so, then the sales would form part of your flat-rate turnover if you are on the flat-rate VAT scheme and could end up costing you money (as you still pay HMRC the flat-rate percentage on zero-rated sales).
