My wife is, however, a nurse. If any of you boys or girls need a plaster for your paper cut or advise on obesity that is.Comment

If you want to insult other posters do it in General.
(and don't bleat that SM insulted you first - that was after you made an idiot of yourself and I agreed with him)"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

I'm doing exactly the same and moving from HSBC to Cater Allen.Originally posted by Maslins View PostFWIW I'm in the process of moving one of our own accounts from HSBC to Cater Allen.
HSBC's account was meant to be free forever within certain transaction limits (negligible cash/cheques, nearly all online), but they recently changed their mind on that.
With my MVL Online hat on, Cater Allen have been a pleasure to deal with, acting upon our documentation with a day or two, rather than a few weeks as many of the other big banks seem to.
Interest received? I don't know...that's certainly not why I'm moving to them or away from HSBC.
The only reason I put up with HSBC's poor internet banking was because it was free. Now they are charging for Business Direct accounts I decided to switch to Cater Allen and have been very impressed with them so far.
The only downside is the £5k minimum balance required to keep free banking, so effectively the account is being paid for with the "lost interest". However, as others are pointing out the rates of interest are so low, that it's not a big factor in my view.Comment
