    IR35 review

I've been trading for a year now, with the possibility of my current contract undergoing further extensions. As such, does anyone know any good firms that offer IR 35 review services at a reasonable price? I want some flexibility as I may need to hop contracts in the future, so ones that offer discounts for future reviews would be welcome.

The other thing I'd ask is, would this go down as a business expense, as you are taking professional advice on the matter?

Bearing in mind every contractor has this done every time they start a new gig you might come to the conclusion this gets discussed ad infinitum and is probably mentioned in depth in the guides to the right.

How about doing a bit of your own basic research by either using google or the search method as detailed by the thread below.

Try putting IR35 review in and have a look through the 2080 results that come back.

The majority of our clients use QDOS consulting, but there are many other providers out there. I strongly advise that you use a specialist company who understands IR35.

It would indeed be an allowable business expense.

You think every contractor does this every time they start a new gig?

Every contractor yes, every newbie or ex/hidden/disguised permie, low hanging IR35 target etc etc no.

Maybe I should have said every proper contractor or something

Of the four of us on my project team, I'm the only one which has ever had a contract checked for IR35 advice or anything like that.

They all work from the theory of "it won't happen to me, and if it does, it can't be that bad"

Exactly the same here, 2 of us get checks, a couple got them checked once upon a time but generally don't bother and the rest say it won't happen lol.... Out of all us I know who will get investigated first though

I got my first contract checked and haven;t bothered since. I tend to work multiple contracts simultaneously and come and go as I please with home working / on site. And I have PCG + membership. It's a level of risk I'm comfortable with. The people I am bothered about are those who never think about it.

And in that situation I think I would be as well but bearing in mind it's free with QDOS it seems rude not to.
