    DOB Incorrect at Companies House

While perusing my company details at Companies House today I noticed my DoB was wrong. Checked back and indeed the original filings show it as wrong. Now considering I had to give in passports and I'm very unlikely to think I was suddenly born in July and not Jan I blame accountant fat finger syndrome

Asked accountant and they suggested a 288c form to correct but this may not be that easy but wanted to get a second opinion. I'm also protected for online Proof filing so pretty sure this won't work.

Other alternatives are resign as director then get reappointed with the new details being correct - not sure on the legal ramifications for this.

The company secretary is a family member (parent) and I was thinking about appointing my other parent as a company director until I get this sorted out incase they claim the company has no valid directors (though it's been going for 6 years lke this).

    Suggestions?

I thought a 288C was a general purpose Copmpanies House Change the Details form. Can't see why it would cause a problem.
    Blog? What blog...?

Simple log into companies house web filing and edit your details.

Web Filing doesn't have the option to change DOB. Neither does 288c.

I thought RP01 was available online but I can't see it. Maybe this link will help you Second Filing FAQs

Your accountant is slightly out of date if they suggested a 288c - these forms were abolished several years ago.

Aye, phoned companies house and was told to seek legal advice, seesms to be a standard response rather than anything to worry about. Spoke to a local corporate solicitor and decided that an hour or two of his time may be in order just for peace of mind. It seems there is no provision to change the DOB of a director in the companies act of 1985.

Looks like I'll be resigning sometime soon then and then changing my mind a few hours later and re-appointing myself. Luckily I'm also the shareholder so I can do whimsical things like this.

What paperwork will I need to file (other than the companies house stuff) - does it need to be an EGM or will just standard board minutes do?
