Cheers Netraider. I see these guys charge a typical £499 for the service - did you try Contractor Money before going with Power Mortgages? We recommend them as they are fee-free, they just work on the basis of the commission from the mortgage provider. I used them last year and was really happy with the service provided, and that it didn't cost me £500...

You can always try using my wife's services as a Mortgage Advisor? Her company DOES levy a charge (but only on acceptance of an actual mortgage application), but her services as a Professional have a value (would you use a Free Accountant?).

Guaranteed to get a better rate and products that are not available to the "man on the street" (if not, you will be advised to use your existing provider...at no cost.)

I am not advertising her services here, so if you want her details, PM me.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

I've contacted them but after initially responding to me, they haven't replied to my emails for nearly 2 weeks. No "out of office" either. Bit disappointed with the service, I have to say.

Shame too as they'd been reccommended by another contractor on here too.

          mortgage with clydesdale

          Hi
          Somewhat similar
trying to move house at the moment.
have 2 small defaults on my credit score from 3 years ago (accounts taken out in my name by my now ex wife, but cant be proved)
and I am struggling to find/get a mortgage, even though I am in contract, 4 years accounts and perfect credit score.
My current mortgage with Halifax initially said yes, but when it came to an actually application they said no
So a broker has recommended the Clydesdale and currently applying to them

This isn't true. Only your applications for credit are visible to others and affect your credit score. Searches are recorded but are not visible and do not affect your credit score.

I am sure that what I said was "searches are recorded"? The number of searches shows a certain amount of "form" and, as a statistic (think Big Data), has an imprint, for (potential) subjective use.

It could be worth checking that your forms on the site are getting to you. I filled out the initial contact form and didn't hear anything back. Its not my job to chase you...

I think the problem is that you are not his only customer. Clearly you don't want to be a customer but even so you can't correct a problem unless you have a means of identifying what the problem is. Your details would provide that.

Thanks, I've had a response now.
