    Will Writing

    Hi All,

Recently seen on some newspapers about the need to write and register a Will. This seems especially important as there are more likelihood of terrorist attacks / tsunamis etc. But it sounds too old to set up a Will at the age of mid 30s. What do you think? Have you set up one for yourself?

    Regards,

Yes, and you are mad not to. The laws of inheritance if you die intestate are not at all what you (or common sense) might think.

      I have writen a Will.

Do it, it makes sense for all sorts of reasons and it is not particularly expensive. I understand it is reasonably easy to DIY.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

I wrote my own and had it reviewed by a solicitor for £50 (in cash) ;-)

          Hi,
Can you point us all in the right direction for how to DIY, as google seem to suggest only paid will writing services? Thanks.

          regards,

Failing that Staples sell them off the shelf, so to speak.

                  Au contraire. http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...&q=DIY+will+UK

I never said it was free, just that you could DIY.

For people without a will, there is something else you need to be aware of.
If you have a partner and a young one.

If you die without a will, your partner does not get it all !. It is shared btw your partner and your young ones (i.e it is held in a trust for them)

This means that your partner might end up beign strapped for money cos its not all hers especially where majority of the inheritance is not liquid.

However in a strange way, this might be of benefit if you dont want your partner to spend all you "hard earned & died for" money on some new fancy lady/fella
2 days after you go under !

I work in london and its an awfull feeling when i get up everyday to think that I might not make it back home.

Its a horrible world we live in nowaddays
