Easter Working - Am I allowed to work as an IT contractor

    Hi,

Are IT contractors allowed to work on Easter Sunday? I am an IT contractor and work for an Insurance company in IT division as contractor. I work through my own limited company.

The below link confused me as it says that fine can be imposed for Easter working:
    https://www.gov.uk/trading-hours-for-retailers-the-law

I have worked on Easter Sunday from home. Please advice, if I should bill for Easter or not.

    Thanks,

Are you Tesco, M&S or other large retail outlet? If so, then no you're not allowed to open on Easter Sunday as it clearly says in that link.

    What a bizarre question.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Its not only just me. Can my client may be fined for allowing me to work?

You want to be thankful you can't be fined for being dumb.

You ain't kidding there. Am sure the client thinks they are paying top dollar for highly skilled professionals. I guess sometimes they don't get what they are expecting......

If you did the work then invoice the client co - they may say no, you should have checked with them before doing the bank holiday work.
