No-one cares about morality anymore. Its survival of the meanest. Though I am not sure how many ever really cared about morality.

Anyway, it is every taxpayers right to arrange their affairs to pay the minimum of tax while keeping within the law.

It's immoral to have to pay for civil service pensions, why not just give civil servants a pay increase and tell them they have to pay there own pensions. The only reason there is an outcry about these schemes now is because public spending is down the pan and the economy is tulip.

They should re-evaluate how the money is being spent that way they wouldn't have to look for additional sources of income, the only people that lose out here are those that work hard.

I agree that the view of what's moral is subjective, and therefore one has to abide by the law.

What is a grey area is whether that should be the letter of the law, or the spirit. Exploiting a legal loophole to pay less tax is asking for trouble.

If you look carefully, HMRC are looking at how the end users' income is treated. The EBT scheme itself may be legal, but if you don't declare the resulting income properly you may be in trouble. It's still a bit of a grey area.

But I agree, "morality" is nothing to do with it.

It is asking for trouble but the problem is, it's always the little guy/girl that bears the brunt of it because they're easier targets.
