    Makes me smile sometimes when I read this stuff. We have to fight hard to prove as PSC's we don't have fixed hours, fixed locations and all that marlarky and then in their own doc's they assume we do.

    In many cases the contract between the service company and the client will specify that the duties of the director or employee in relation to that contract are to be carried out at the client's premises. Often the contract will specify fixed working hours at those premises.
    Not really a point for argument but makes me smile non the less

      Have been claiming about £100 a month for rent for last few years, maybe time to roll my company..

                Watch "dedicated area" - therein lies the route to NNDR and CGT on sale. Your "dedicated area" should also be used for domestic use part time.

                Off the top of my head, and I confess I haven't checked, I think the rules changed a couple of years back to include fixed costs like mortgage and council tax, in which case the calculation would be costs (interest, council tax, utilities, insurance, repairs x 20% x (say) 95% (allow 5% for domestic / family use).
