I appreciate what you say about any more insurance being a waste of money, but for my own peace of mind I would probably want cover against all repayments/interest/fines etc just in case, as I don't think PCG plus covers that.

I am surprised to see that Nixon Williams and Intouch are not on the PCG list of accredited accountants

So I guess that narrows it down to Crunch, SJD or Baker Watkin. I must be being a numpty and looking at the wrong list or something, as there are so many recommendations for NW or Intouch on this forum.
Plus doesn't give you that cover. The logic is you almost certainly don't need it (and with a direct contract on the terms you've described, the chances of you getting found to be inside IR35 and being presented witha back tax bill at the Tribunal level is vanishingly small). You can get the same cover through Abbey's similar policy (Survive35??) via the PCG. You still don't need it IMHO, but it's your money.

Accredited means their knowledge of freelance contracting has been tested objectively and certified. However it's fair to say NW's and In Touch's knowledge are demonstrably as good as anyone else's; don't let the lack of the Accredited flag put you off using them.
    Blog? What blog...?

Just to answer that point about PCG accreditation, both Craig and I passed the PCG course whilst working at our prior firm, but the accreditation stays with the firm, not the person. It's something we're looking at doing again soon.
