I've finally got a CN (for 2007/8). Now I'm really one of the gang I thought it interesting that HMRC gave me 30 days to pay or appeal but sent the letter second class so that only leaves me 3 weeks and within that is a long bank holiday weekend. I've sent the CN to MP for them to appeal.

I'm still waiting for a reply from Gauke to my second letter, the one I sent ripping into his first letter by quoting his own arguments from 2008.

      MP conduct

With all these outrageous turnarounds by MPs now in Government is their a code-of-conduct complaints procedure?

I for one have lost all faith in the establishment with the attitude they have taken whilst in opposition to that when in charge and able to do something about it.

It's disgusting and "morally repugnant" !!

couldnt agree more its a F**king outrage!!! We in all our nasty evil benevolent tax avoiding nature have never been hypocrites! For example you would never see me having a pop at the people still using LTD co's almost flicking the V's to IR35 when it was all so uncertain back in the noughties. They were taking soooo many risks. hahahaha

            Reminder

If you received a Notice of Completion like this from HMRC, please get in touch. It may have been sent early 2006.

            Thanks
            DR

              BBC News

              Interesting read

"More than 2,000 schemes have been disclosed in the past eight years."

Surely HMRC must’ve treated all users of those schemes the same way as they treated us otherwise that would be unfair (that word again) and indicative of HMRC having an agenda against certain providers/schemes….

Of course HMRC would never do such a thing as they are the shining light of morality and professionalism…. We wouldn’t want them being described as morally repugnant after all now would we

Given what we now know, and using advanced technology, it is possible to show a photo-fit of HMRCs case for section 58:

Classic! The only thing that could be better suited on the top though is "The Joker" or "Alf Garnett" if you know what I mean

just received a payment request for end year tax 2008

I have just received a letter CN (for 2007/8) stating that they have just completed my check for 2008.

What I don't understand is when have they started the check on my account.I have never received any letter stating they are making check for my tax return 2007/2008? Can HM claim they have made a check without informing me?
