Very interesting - but I think most of us went directly with Montpelier. Now if Montpelier had been forced to pay up (instead of the intermediary) that would have been incredibly interesting.

Actually maybe not. We are unlikely to resolve our case with HMRC until 2020 and I doubt by then anyone will want to sue Montpelier. Our best hope is getting NTRT to persuade parliament to change the law.

And even if anyone sued Montpelier and won I believe WG and JC would be at their holiday homes in Barbados quicker than you could say "they kept all their money in offshore bank accounts".

        Thank you!

I just wanted to say it's very heartening to see donations still coming in.

A big thank you to everyone supporting us, whether through donations or lobbying. It is through your generosity that we keep this campaign alive.

And to our HMRC readers, our campaign is strong, we have many, many members and no intention of backing down. If anything, things are just hotting up

Great call Santa. The arguments currently being selected by Hmrc/gauke show they don't have a strong case. They ignore highly pertinent facts and they choose sections of the JR judgement to suit them (other sections actually disagree with what how they are interpreting small sound bites). They are put in such a way as to sway MPs and if they have to bend the truth to do that they will, and are (and have throughout!)

Our job as victims and ntrt members is to spread the word. I have to say that it is much tougher than I would have thought in a first world country but progress is well and truly being made. NTRT and Whitehouse are on the case.

          Truth will out!

I am pleased to say that my contract has once again been extended. I was concerned how I might be able to continue my monthly DD's whilst on the bench. Retirement age is approaching too rapidly for any solution to this to be found in my (working) lifetime.

My DD of one day a month is a painless investment in the only hope we have of seeing justice in this situation. I hope all our readers will consider a similar arrangement to ensure the long term engagement of Whitehouse.

            Well done team.

Completely agree. I have two solutions to my s58 nightmare, ntrt and lottery.

Happy to keep up DD and waiting next campaign move.

REQUEST FOR INFO: Did anyone receive a brown envelope from HMRC very recently?

                Hi all

Some members may have received a brown envelope from HMRC in the last few days, with a very interesting message possibly relating to discovery assessments.

Don't worry if you haven't, these are not demands or anything like that.

Only if you are one of the people mentioned above, please would you PM me or send a message to the usual info at notoretrotax email address.

Your privacy is assured, if you do contact me. I will not disclose your details to anyone else without permission.

Apologies to everyone else if this all sounds a bit cryptic! It's just an avenue of information I am pursuing that may or may not lead to something, but for obvious reasons cannot discuss it here.

                Many thanks

                Santa

                      "Red pill"

I assume this was a reference to the red pill Neo took, in the film The Matrix, to escape from the virtual world of the matrix.

If only there was a pill you could take to escape HMRC's matrix!
