Apparantly S58 doesn't affect any taxpayers.
Oh well, that's alright then. Silly me. Why have I been worrying myself about it then?

    Answer that bl**dy question!
You have to read between the lines.... 'its introduction had no affect on any taxpayers' tax position.'

As far as they are concerned it always applied and we should have all known that it did.

Its doesn't work, we just don't know why

HMRC seem able to claim that for 2001-2008 they can knew the scheme didn't work, they just didn't know why. then 2008 they decide why it doesn't work and change the law to fit and issue tax demands. If I had always owed the tax why didn't HMRC start chasing for payment in 2002-2008?

has anyone worked out what will happen first, tax tribunals or general election?

OK, so great news. Just found out Im going to be a dad, amazing and thrilled!

However its tainted, thanks to HMRC Im now also cursed as in all likelihood my wife will give up work in a few months.

So where does that leave me when we will be on one salary while trying to make ends meet with a new son or daughter if we eventually get a big brown envelope and Im bankrupted!? I hear benefits are quite good nowadays!!

Thanks HMRC, you manage to spoil such a special moment in someones life all because of a tax legacy, your a special bunch, you really are....oh yes and your actions could very easily cost you more in fees and paying for a new families benefits than any money you thought you were going to get out of all this..

Think I might break the news to Mr Afiriyie, pay him a visit and see how he thinks RBWM will help out a new family if HMRC go to collect.

Congratulations to you and family, some things are bigger than HMRC - and this is one of them.

SD - your life is about to change (in a good way), but as I have four teenagers my advice to you is to make the most of the early years...!

Aint that the truth. I had to work away from home during these years and it was truely hard.

                  Congrats SD.

Like wise I missed a lot of the early years of our kids growing up due to 'work commitments' which was partly my doing, don't get sucked in..... the family mean more to you than any job !

The HMRC stiffs wouldn't know what we are talking about, just imagine how the lonely boring life's some of them must lead. Stiffing someone at every opportunity.
