    VAT

    I've been invoicing the agency £500 + 20% VAT = £600/day
and I've just noticed that the amount the agency has been paying into my account is £500/day and not £600

    Should it be £600 ?

If the contract and schedule state £500 + VAT, then you should get £600. If it doesn't, then you shouldn't.

If you are invoicing incorrectly, then you need to reconcile this in your accounts and paperwork. If you are invoicing correctly and they aren't paying it, then you need to chase for the debt.

Your company does HAVE a VAT Number, doesn't it? Have you got your VAT registration sorted?

You might need to provide the agency with your VAT registration certificate.

I do have a VAT number, it's on the invoice.

Just looked at my sent items and seen that I haven't sent the agency a copy of the VAT reg certificate

              Bingo!

Sent it to the agents and they'll pay all the outstanding VAT.
