This will be there so that if it turns out that the agency are caught by the agency regulations (where they find themselves liable for holiday pay etc) then they claw back 5% of the contract value to cover for it. The agency is being an arse, tell them to strike it out.Free advice and opinions - refunds are available if you are not 100% satisfied. -
This is what my agency said as well on the last renewal.Originally posted by Wanderer View PostThis will be there so that if it turns out that the agency are caught by the agency regulations (where they find themselves liable for holiday pay etc) then they claw back 5% of the contract value to cover for it.Comment

Just been offered a contract containing the same clause, except in this case the status bonus is 20% !!!
I won't be agreeing to these terms but I guess there must be some people agreeing to it otherwise this would have been stamped out. Didn't even tell me they had slipped this in, wasn't in my last contract with the same agency 12 months ago.Comment

But because no-one is naming the agency there is no pressure to change ('well if everyone else is accepting it..')"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

In fact it's a cheek trying to palm it off as a 'bonus'. A bonus is a payment received in addition to my agreed rate. Any deduction from my rate is a 'penalty' in my book, but I guess agencies use a tulip dictionary.Comment

Well I will be rejecting the contract outright, not even going to ask for it to be amended. The client was really keen on getting me in so I expect this will cause them some grief.Originally posted by cojak View PostBut because no-one is naming the agency there is no pressure to change ('well if everyone else is accepting it..')Comment
