Online share dealing

Hi All

I'm going to do a little share dealing, as I can see there are some bargains worth snapping up.

I'm interested to hear what share dealing service people are using, how reliable and easy to use, and the cost per trade? I would only be making at most around 5 trades per month I recon.

I've checked Lloyds TSB share dealing: £13.50 per trade (Nominee)
Halifax: £12.50

Barclays £12.95

Personally. (I ruled out doing it with Ltd co, as there is no capital gains tax free allowance)

I use iii.co.uk. Not had any problems.

I use shareprice.co.uk, 10 quid a trade, or 9 if you use their great iPhone app.

I use Barclays, love their system, very easy to use.

Why not do spread betting instead of short term trading? The spreads or fees are usually lower.

I don't fully understand Spread betting.. so I could mess up!

I use First Direct, but only because I bank with them which means it is much easier to be able to transfer funds to/from the share dealing account.

My recommedndation would be NOT to use them for share dealing as their system is pretty poor.

Anyone pouring money into Tescos shares?? is it a minor profit blip (so good time to buy) or start of their demise??
