Anyone else having specific problems with Parasol and rechargeable expenses?

I submitted a rechargeable expenses claim more than 6 weeks ago and it’s not been paid yet. Contacted Parasol 3 times by e-mail and have not had any sensible reply, so contacted the agency today to see if they had any news. They said they have not received anything from Parasol!!!!

If you have a claim in you might want to check-up on it.....

I have been with Parasol for about 3 years and the level of service has been generally very good. However, the recent system changes have had a negative impact. I generally don't complain and have been patient with Parasol. But afer having an uncomortable wait for payment over the last couple of months and also having rechargeable expenses been processed as taxable pay I'm beginning to lose confidence. Where peoples hard earned cash is concerned mistakes of this nature are unacceptable no matter what!

        Rechargeables taxable?

Bit confused about rechargeables. If they've already been claimed as schedule e expenses presumably the rechargeable amount is taxable?

Rechargeable Expenses are not Schedule E expenses. I.e, I claim a mileage allowance from the company I am providing services for and also parking expenses. I enter them as Rechargeable expenses to claim back money I have had to spend in the course of my daily business. These are personal expenses that are deemed non taxable. In much the same way a hotel stay expense would be claimable as a personal non Tax liable expense.

I can not duplicate the claim as a Scedule E expense though as that would be naughty.

The definitions between the two are clearly defined on Parasols Website.

I do believe some agencies will make mistakes when forwarding payments.
I have spoken at length with my agency recently and they assured me of all the dates and amounts that were forwarded to Parasol and even sent me all payment details. So on this occasion at least I am inclined to see Parasol at fault - Just seems to fit in with the system changes taking place.

Parasol have been extremely poor over the past few months. If the phone is on it never gets answeredand emails seem to go into a black hole, you might get a response several days later or you don't get one at all.

I've been with Parasol for over 3 years but I was on the verge of leaving them on Friday and if the service does not improve before next months pay day I will leave.

Last Christmas I worked with a few contractors who had the same problems with their agency. In the end the agency went under taking all their money with them.

Make your mind up, old chap, Parasol is not an Agency. They have decided to screw up a major upgrade to a working system though, which is why it's all gone a bit pear shaped. The money is almost certainly there, they're just having a bit of bother getting it passed on.

Then people ask me why they need Change Management processes...
                  Blog? What blog...?

I know they aren't an agency. The point I was trying to make is the problems I and numerous other people are having contacting them is the same as when the agency went bust.

Too right they are having a bit of bother passing it on, they have even started to quote "we have two days to match payments as per our service charter". In the time I've been with them the longest it's taken them to match a payment is a few hours.

Rob Crossland replied to my email i sent a few weeks ago and I was assured by Helen on the customer support team on Friday that things will get better now, she even gave me her direct dial in case I have any problems. So I'll give them a month and see how things go.

                      Parasol

I have recently joined the forum, makes for a great read!

It seems that people seem to put up with a lot of inconvenience due to their payroll companies/suppliers. I dont really understand why you guys just keep taking it, it seems simple to me: If you dont like the service you are being supplied, leave the company that is providing it. You cannot be held hostage and ultimatley, your staying or leaving is the biggest test of a company's service. Speak with your feet and get out if you're not happy! There is no loyalty bonus for staying with them and you are not going to be penalised for leaving.....
