First post here... I'm in the middle of setting up a new ltd and have just received a letter from intracom VAT registry telling me that I ned to pay £320 to register for EU VAT. Is this for real?

No - it sounds like a scam to me.

Sounds dodgy to me too. I had a bit of a google but couldn't really find anything one way or the other.

You could try asking your VAT office, they may be able to tell you.

Watch out for these! One of our clients received one today also. Seems like the scammers are just skimming new company details from Companies House.
