    Ok.. it's growing on me...

As Rav said, it is actually better than the old system once you get the hang of it... but still not intuitive.

Read the book I linked. It will make your love and relish change, not oppose it.

Cater Allen interface aint great - I agree.

No obvious way to download statements to spreadsheet either which would be useful.

Also, if you want to move money from linked currency account to sterling you still have to phone them to do it. why?

Another vote for the new UI here. At least the default date has moved from 1900.

Would have been nice to have been told it was going to change though.........

and what's all that BS about having to press refresh?

Kind of an odd interface, just started using CA recently.

FYI they are switching to faster payments next January, I asked them about it today.

Yeah, some bumf came through the post about that the other day.

The banking system in this country is hopelessly antiquated and slow. How is it that their algorithmic trading systems are trading with microseconds of latency and it still takes 3 days to transfer money between banks.

Good news. I transfer between A&L and Natwest accounts and its there pretty much instantly but anything from CA takes days still.

Coincidentally, Natwest emailed me this morning telling me they were also implementing Faster Payments next January (from Jan 1) "due to The Payment Services Regulations 2009". So that must be why they are all getting their arses in gear.

Took me about 30 seconds to work out what had changed, and how to get what I wanted....

Amusing to see that the faster payments was ultimately driven by the EU's Payment Services Directive (PSD, 2007/64/EC). Apparently the banks argued that people neither wanted to needed payments any faster than 5 days but the government was forced to legislate to implement the EU directive.

Funny how the EU does something useful and the banks crow about it as if it's their own great idea but if it's something less useful then everyone complains about them "meddling".
