Seriously get a new accountant. The other question you posted should have been easily answered by him as well. Is he a normal accountant who doesn't understand contractors? Get a specialist that has answered these questions a million times (a few times less than us though I would suspect)

Thread below shows recommendations for ones we have used on here.

NL. We're failing posters with these questions. I think one of us is going to have to knock up a massive BMP we can inline on the site with arrows and stuff.

If you can get it done by tomorrow night then I don't need to escalate to Sue.

      Cheers

You can declare a dividend every time you raise an invoice if you like - you don't even have to wait till the invoice is paid (so long as you know it will be paid). You are the director of the company, not your accountant.
I like the sound of this..if he doesn't play along I will sack him..

You are way past this stage by the sound of it and all the basic questions you have. I don't think he will be shedding too many tears when he hears you are going though......

It's been touted as an IR35 indicator, but there is no hard evidence that it makes any difference one way or another.

Most large businesses take quarterly dividends, but small businesses can take dividends whenever they like.

By who? Brollies? Tax insurance salesmen?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

To get organised for monthly dividends my accountant gave me a spreadsheet to use as a dividend voucher. At the end of each month I put in the date and the amount of the dividend I am paying, print it out and put it in a file. At the end of the year I have 12 dividend vouchers which my accountant is very happy with.

LOL. I remember ages ago there was a discussion on permies get paid monthly so giving yourself monthly divis may show that the person still hadn't gotten away from that mentatlity. There maybe a bit of truth in that but the fact still stands it makes no difference when you divi.
