    Doing their Job

However, I cannot agree with you on the issue of blame. The blame lies without question at the feet of the tax collectors (and we all know exactly who they are).

The tax collectors and their tax counsel were complicit in drawing up a deliberate plan to mislead parliament into passing section 58 of the 2008 Finance Bill (which by the way is a treasonable offence). They knew exactly what they were doing and one of their motives was to cover up their incompetency in leaving the tax loophole open for so long.
I have no complaints about "HMRC Just Doing their job" but why didn't they just "do their job" when the tax planning came to their attention? rather than sit on their hands for years.

As for naming them, well, as they said in court, they know who we are. I'll refrain from profanity, because I don't want to get banned, but that doesn't change what I think of the HMRC bods who are behind this. I won't be shaking hands after a fair fight.
Please don't misquote me.I didn't say just doing their job involved misleading ANYBODY.

Try not to get too hung up about it. Energy wasted on revenge could be better spent in this campaign. Help get the TRUTH out write to your MP. If you already have, get OTHER people to write to their MP's

THAT question has to be asked in front of a much wider audience.

HMRC/The Treasury ? - Maybe, if they deliberately mislead parliament or for dreaming up this hideous action to cover their backs, or make some money, knowing of their tardiness in giving a plausible reason why the scheme did not work.
Scheme users/You/Me ? - Certainly not. I did what every other tax payer in this country does/would do given the opportunity which is to maximise income according to the laws of the country to give his family the best upbringing.
Clever Tax Barristers (on BOTH sides) ? - Nope. They were just doing their job in applying the law. They dont make the law or even suggest the law.
Montpelier/OtherScheme providers ? - I dont think so. They had no way of knowing this could happen as it had not been done before and would be incomprehensible to think in a civilised, democratic society.
MPs ? - Maybe, but not all. If they knew the extent of dismay retrospective action like this would have when they passed the law, or if they didnt do their research properly and still voted for it then yes. Lets not forget a lot of MPs objected to the retrospective element.

Someone has to be accountable in order to change things and it is not ok to hide behind an organisation when it is individuals who are being affected so hideously. Unfortunately, MPs and those who are at the front line of HMRC are our only addressing point.

I think I blamed EVERYBODY including myself. Does blame matter at this stage? I fully understand what a treasonable offence is. We need more evidence from people out there. I am sure there is lots more out there. I repeat our job at the moment is SHINE THE LIGHT OF TRUTH on what went on.

I didn't misquote you, don't twist my words. I was pointing out why I think your point is wrong. Don't misquote me, I never mentioned revenge. As for putting my energy into the campaign, I've been doing that for several years.

On the subject of "clever" tax barristers, I do find it despicable that HMRC's lawyer, Singh, who's specialism is fighting for people's human rights, actually sought to fight against our human rights in this case.
