I'm an Executor of a Will and I'm trying to trace missing money.
I've got a copy of a large cheque, drawn by the deceased from her Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) savings account in Nov 2009, paid to herself ie. the payee on the cheque was "Mrs Jane Doe". I assume this means it was paid into another account in her name.
I can tell from the reverse side of the cheque that it was presented by Lloyds/TSB.
The sort code is either 30-28-46 or possibly 30-28-48.
YBS have drawn a blank in identifying the sort code, so they've asked a 3rd party to trace the cheque which will take several weeks.
I'm trying to see if I can track it down any quicker.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
