    German accountancy fees?

Can anyone give me a rough idea of what fees a German accountant may reasonably charge a freelancer?

I pay about €200 a quarter + about €750 for my final tax return, that covers bookkeeping, VAT etc as well as income tax.

It's based on an hourly rate + expenses for letters etc, AFAIK (I might be wrong) the rates they charge are limited by law.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

In the UK, my accountant didn't cover quarterly VAT so I managed to deal with it myself. I suppose I could do the same here to save a bit of money. Although I hear the VAT forms are monthly here and not quarterly.

Mine started as monthly and then after a while I got permission to do them quarterly, but I never really understood why. I think it might something you have to apply for. There is also something called a Zusammenfassende Meldung that needs to be done every quarter.
