Can anyone give me a rough idea of what fees a German accountant may reasonably charge a freelancer?

I pay about €200 a quarter + about €750 for my final tax return, that covers bookkeeping, VAT etc as well as income tax.

In the UK, my accountant didn't cover quarterly VAT so I managed to deal with it myself. I suppose I could do the same here to save a bit of money. Although I hear the VAT forms are monthly hereOriginally posted by doodab View Post

Mine started as monthly and then after a while I got permission to do them quarterly, but I never really understood why. I think it might something you have to apply for.
