    Invalid Dividend Voucher

I have observed that on the very first dividend voucher before couple of years that was issued, the number of shares mentioned is wrong which makes it invalid. Obviously, the amount that has been distributed does not change except

Have anyone experienced it and know how to correct it?

Just issue a new dividend voucher. As long as the amount declared on your tax return is correct then it shouldn't matter.

Is it invalid because of your inability to spell, punctuate or write a sentence that makes sense?

        The correct version is:

Total dividand of 20000 pounds issues per 2 shares, 10000 pounds per each share at 100%.

        Version I have issued is:

Total dividand of 20000 pounds issues per 1 share.

Can I issue new dividand vouchers as of the current date stating mistake in the dividend voucher. Though my company is one man company, i regret having to change the old dividend voucher since it is cosidered as fraud.

A bit like it a if a tree falls in the woods and no-one is around to hear the sound does it make a noise? It's only fraud if you get caught.

As long as you don't financially make a gain from correcting a mistake then it's not really fraud. Your not the first and won't be the last to make this mistake. Just re-issue the div voucher with the date on it from original voucher.

As you have all the div vouchers then what are HMRC going to compare it to in order to declare if fraud

To be fair Clare (who is an accountant) gave you good, clear advice in the first response to the thread.

Some of the posters on here do find that bad English is a problem, personally I find it tricky to read, but it's also a reasonably common indicator of the CUK sockpuppet problem so even in the serious sections of the forum it can get some unfriendly responses.
There's also the argument that when asking for advice it's good manners to write as clearly and legibly as possible, that way people find it easier to offer reasoned advice.

Off topic comments removed. tyut4669, if you want to have a quarrel, go to general. If you want helpful answers a) don't be so quick to take offence and b) do try to post your questions clearly. Read them a few times before hitting submit reply, and check that they're easily understood. And don't spell the same word in different ways in the same sentence!

In all fairness, writing another dividend voucher after 2 years is no way correct. That is called 'fraud' by the way.

The reason, I have made effort to post something is to get professional advice and a valid debate on it which unfortunately seems to be missing. Good luck to this forum.

So, are you saying that they are advocating fraud? I find it hard to believe that this would be the case.

Is amending the paperwork genuinely fraud, or is just that your interpretation? The only accountant to have responded hasn't suggested this, so are you basing your statement on opinion or fact? And if it's fact, what is the basis for that?

So - more a question for Claire (or any other accountant) - is it fraudulent to amend the paperwork retrospectively, or not?

It's NOT fraud if you attach a note stating that it's a replacement voucher for the same amount to the same beneficiary(s), but there was a typo in the previous one. So long as there's a clear evidence trail then you're not covering anything up. Without deception there's no real argument that there's been a fraud. Cockups happen.
HMRC inspectors will usually see a genuine mistake as just that and more than likely just advise you to check a bit more carefully in the future.
