Ok so the situation is I am currently in the UK but going to move to Germany with my girlfriend.
I will be keeping my existing contract here in the UK and working a combination of 'from home' and 'on site', basically 2 days at home and 3 days on site (on average).
So I will be flying to the UK every week.
Am I right in thinking that if I become a resident in Germany and pay their taxman I am entitled to claim airfares and the cost of renting a property over here?
And am I also right in thinking that I would not be entitled to claim airfares/rent if I was a resident here in the UK for tax purposes.
One final question. This 183 day rule for residency purposes, am I right in thinking that a 'day' is wherever you are at 11:59pm on each particular day?
