Nope. Sounds like eminently good advice to me.

And before you go off on another one, search for the amount of material we have posted in the last three months answering exactly your question in some detail with examples and counter-arguments (hint - I can get 53 different threads very quickly, just from the Legal/Accounting and Business fora). Then cost that at £50 an hour to include not just typing it all out half a dozen times in various translations for the hard of thinking but also the effort put into learning all this in the first place.

Then complain. But don't be amazed if we still think you're not worth the effort.

OK, and just to prove I do know the answers and you can't be bothered to look, you can start at this thread -

If you are so bothered why do you bother to type replies, why dont you just simply ignore them???

Some of us come on here because we want to act as a forum and ask our fellow contractors for advice, seems all you tend to do is be rude and intimidate people.

So what if the questions have already been answered it is a forum.

For you and the other idiot on this post, who wants to act like a 2 year old, why dont you go away and dont come back.

It is only hoped that you act more professional, it your contracting roles, if you have ever done contracting ???

I admit I am not polite to people who ask stupid questions, or questions that can be answered by three minutes work with Google. If you go look at the answers I and others provide, you will find we do provide a lot of solid advice in there - all you have to do is ask intelligent questions.

If that seems harsh it's because this is not a game, and people who take it on lightly are not only going to get hurt, they are going to damage the reputation of people who do know what they're doing.

Have I done contracting - well, yes, about 10 years, mostly at Project or Programme Manager level. I'm currently responsible for a $200m migration programme, which is about average for the sort of work I do. I think I qualify as someone who can render an opinion.

So yes, I (and others) agree I'm hard on some, but it is with good reason. In my trade I have little or nothing to prove, I'm not scoring points or proving how clever I am. You might try to look a little deeper and understand where us grown-ups are coming from.

Because after a while these simple posts become very infuriating. We all know that it is common, good practice when visiting forums to at least read the FAQ and use the search function. When all of the basic information needed by a contractor is readily available why should others who frequent this board have to waste their time responding to absolutely lame questions?

So why would we want to repost the same information over and over again for? Just because somebody can’t be arsed to search through and build up their own knowledge?

Well I guess you mean me, sorry bud I am sticking around for now.

Yep I am definitely a contractor, my own LTD company, my own accountants and some nice contracts under my belt.

I wonder if you guys who don’t have the ability or the common sense to use the search function hold the same attitudes at work? Do you just leech of colleagues in your work environment or are you a tad more self sufficient?

yes I do mean you sunshine, and I know perfectly well how to use a search facility.

you are both extremly defensive and a disgrace to a great website with a great forum facility.

you totally miss the point, when posts are made in here it is to ask for advice, guidance, by acting like you do, it is not encouraging, debate, forums.

it is about time, you were both booted out and not allowed back in,

you are obviously VIP contractors and Managers on multi million $£ Projects so go and do some planning on your roles.

Alternatlively if you have advice, and want to post on here, show some respect.

Hope I am not alone on this and that these idiots are ignored by ALL !

Oh go away, little man. The advice is clear - do some research and ask about the bits you don't understand (although in your case, we might assume that's just about everything). Me, I don't care if you don't like the answers or the attitude - but if you can't hack straight answers and direct opinions, why do you think you can make it as a contractor? Oh yes, sorry - you're all seeing and I'm an idiot.

guess you dont like the truth?????

For your information maybe new on here but extremly experienced in contracting and I act with professional pride as a Senior Programme Manager.

All you 2 can do is insult and be rude.

Go back to your multi million $ contracts which you are programme managers for (LOL) as you obviously have nothing better to do, and leave this forum for contractors who want to discuss matters in a polite and professional way, and give advice to each other.

Again a call to my contracting colleagues on here to request to ignore these 2 until they can learn some respect.

Of course you are a Senior Programme Manager and not some 1st line help desk monkey . I am sure you have a number of important meetings to go to, so toodle off and all the best.
