IR35 in never-ending contract

Hi,

I am interested in gathering opionion on whether it is feasible to enter into a 'permanent contract' with a client, and to remain outside of IR35? I can have a fairly free hand in drawing up the details, so the agreement could include:
- an IR35 friendly contract approved by PCG
- fixed contracts to be renewed (perhaps annually)
- working from home
- undertaking work for other clients

Admittedly, the bulk of the work would be for this principal client though.

Do people think it is even worth beginning the research into this, or would the very fact that I have a constantly renewed contract mean I am onto an IR35 avoiding non-starter.

The 3 major IR35 pointers - substitution, mutuality of obligation, direction & control - aren't affected by not having an end date.

Contract Duration has no bearing on IR35, that's been established legally. So get a good contract sorted - the PCG one is about as good as you'll find anywhere - and make sure your working conditions match its provisions.

Long term clients are a good thing - it demostrates that you provide a quality business and you have an assured income stream. Don't let short-term tax issues get in the way.
