    VAT Helplines ******* useless

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Everytime you call you get 2 minutes of recorded information messages then:
"Sorry, all our operators are busy right now, please try again later. Bye"

No call queue management, just 2 minutes wasted with no option to stay on hold untill one of the useless ****ers is available

    Idiots
    Coffee's for closers

Don't worry you weren't the first and def won't be the last.

    Been there
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Yes, mixed service. If you ever take advice from the helpline ALWAYS ask for a call reference number and the name of the person you spoke to.

What did you want to ask them? Maybe someone on here could help...

I wanted help with the online registration, i'd managed to lock it somehow.
Unless of course someone on here has admin access to the HMRC websites...

I did manage to get through this morning, started calling at 8am, took a few attempts. It seems like they operate on a maximum queue length. On my successful attempt I was still listening to music for a few minutes untill I got through to someone.

Having got through eventually, the chap I was speaking to was very friendly, helpful and didn't have to put me on hold whilst he looked up an answer. He even stayed on the call whilst I reregistered to make sure it all worked ok.

Are you surprised? This is after all, an 'organisation' that has recently allowed one of its former employees to leave on the Friday and return as a contractor on the Monday.

            IR35 anyone?

            Bunch of incompetent, hypocritical unts!
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!
