Why don't you just take the phone out in your name and expense it like most people?
Because if it's a personal contract then you can't claim line rental, and can only claim business calls. If it's a business contract, then you can claim the whole bill.
Bollocks. I claim for the lot taking out the best deals I can for everything then put it through against the business with direct debit.
Just because you claim it doesn't mean that it's what HMRC would allow as a business expense in an investigation. In fact, if there was an expenses audit, it would be disallowed.
HMRC guidelines are clear on mobile phones - just because you choose to ignore those guidelines does not make it "bollocks", though.
Well I've waited the 12 days and the registered letter i sent t-mobile is still not declared as delievered, so i have no idea if they have it (What a pointless service recorded deliery is when this occurs). So have decided to take it out in personal name, get accounts filed and then try and transfer it into biz name in a month or 2.
I would file your accounts then a couple of months after that try again.
Why wait 2 months - does it take that long for filed accounts to be published? Thought HMRC were moving towards an electronic and therefore presumably real-time way of working.
Made the personal order this morn - was on phone less than 10 mins and its due for delivery before 1pm tomorrow. I'm blown away by comparatively how easy this was!
