A more helpful solution/response would be to approach either another high street bank, HSBC have been favourable to others in the past from what I remember or maybe give Cater Allen a call. They are highly recommended on here by quite a few and are aimed at contractors. Details can be found here

Best thing to do is go via your accountant. Most of them have links with a particular bank.

What ever you do avoid Abbey / Santander. Natwest are switched on and professional.

Cater Allen = Santander as well and I have had no issues at all. I would guess more to do with bad luck, bt I may be wrong.

Well you are lucky. 5 weeks trying to deal with the morons in their call centre just to open an account tells another story.

Seriously incompetent and unprofessional. I hope nothing ever goes wrong for you,as I guarantee you will not be able to speak to anyone who actually has the authority to decide something.

"Oh you sent your fax on Friday and the new accounts team are still looking at faxs received on Thursday". On monday, tuesday and thursday the week after.

Its my duty to warn people away from them.

                  WHS

Abbey have lost the plot since Santander took them over. I opened a Natwest business account online. Very quick & easy.
