Expenses - 2yr rule - again

Started a contract 18 months ago - based in the midlands

After 3 months project base moved to London - since then I've worked about 75% of my time from there

Been offered a new (6 month) contract, again based in London, which will take me to 2 years total contract time - but only 21 months London based

I'm HOPING that I'm still safe claiming travel/hotel expenses -- although I have a nagging feeling that the 40% thing (I'd have worked more than 40% of my time in London over the last two years) will end up kicking me in the knackers ??

Should be OK. You're within the 24 month limit at your current location, which is sufficiently different from the old one to have reset the clock. Where you will have a problem is if you get extended for more than three months.

The 40% bit is only of use if you are spendng >24 months in the same general area. Doesn't really apply in your case.

Thanks .... thats my reading of the situation too

also got the opportunity of a totally seperate contract (still in bloody London mind) which may / may not make a difference
