[QUOTE=northernladuk;945106]There are a number of reasons for this..
A) Your accountant said no. Why do you think we are any more qualified than your accountant to answer this. Someone said yes do it and you questioned him. So why ask?
The reason people ask question is not to get a QUALITY ANSWER is to get a feel of the question.
If someone answered in ContractorUK means thats not the final verdict. i.e people will have to do their reserach even after getting the answer (thats what i have intended to do anyway)
B) The question is showing a total lack of business accumen as was pointed out i.e. the difference between a company and what is yours. Think like a company director
My understanding towards contractorUK is that most of the guys are running LTD company... why should i think like a company director does it give more rights?
C) Its been asked a million times before so use the search button
Tried it couldn't get it if you have why don't u point to a link? insted of getting angry....
D) It makes us laugh posting sarcastic mails to pretty awful questions. Well it does me anyway.
The bottom line is so far no one given an answer or atleast something which lead to an answer... don't see a sarcastic thing here...Comment

You can use the scrappage scheme if you are a business, check this link, it applies to private, business and fleet including commercial vehicles:
http://www.ukcarscrappagescheme.co.uk/?p=330
I can only think there is something unusual about your situation. It would be worth you speaking to a car dealer too. Your accountant could do with some examples of deal carried out as a business transaction to encourage them to do a bit more research too.
I dont always think all accountants advice is correct and its worth validating. If you are still in doubt contact: Department for Business and Enterprise
good luck!
PS - people here can be harsh, remember there are a lot of geeks on this forum that look down on mere mortals. However a little bit of web research on your part wouldnt go a miss, that too me a total of 30 seconds. :-)Comment

[QUOTE=secontrator;945198]I'm sorry secontractor. We dont mean to be nasty, but the way you have worded your questions you have come across to me as a naiive contractor who thinks that running a limited company is just a way of paying less tax and bending the rules to pay less for everything. Running a ltd company is a business, and yes you are a company director, and you need to think like a business otherwise the tax man will be on you like a tonne of bricks.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostThere are a number of reasons for this..

It will annoy proper contractors as anyone who comes into this business with a lack of knowledge of how it works just makes it harder for the rest of us as HMRC treats us all as these rule-bending tax dodgers. SO please read up on your liabilities and responsibilities as a company director - you may get a rude awakening.
Namaste!Comment

The reason i put the question in the forum is because accountant don't give answers for all the questions and their short answer is NO, YOU CAN'T DO IT...
BTW, no one is expecting a WIKIPEDIA for these questions...
Adios.Comment
