Royal Courts of Justice, The Strand, London. Starts Tuesday Jan 19th, and will last 2 or 3 days.
4 weeks today!
DR where can I find the exact details, times, court no's etc? I work on the Strand so should be able to pop in lunchtime and provide a few updates on this forum..
Makes me wonder that they think he holds the answer to rebuff our human rights claims?? and this will be their main line of defence. I do hope he hasn't got any suprises up his sleeve.
Can anyone tell me exactly where/when the JR is taking place? And what the procedure is for attending - I might pop along.
It worried me a little at first too, but I think it may indicate how weak they think their case may be. This guy isn't going to come cheap, if their defence was so watertight they wouldn't be wheeling out a big gun. His background seems to be defending claims to human rights, I wonder how good he would be at attacking claims to them? Not very, methinks. He might be able to use clever arguments to defend them, and he might be aware of the defences that can be used, but is he going to be underhand and devious (like HMRC) or is he going to fight clean? I suspect the latter, or his own credibility and professionalism is undermined. I think Hector has made an error, they've paid top whack for a guy to attack something he fundamentally appears to believe in. I'm not saying he won't go all out to win, he's obviously a thorough professional, what I'm saying is that he's unliekly to stoop to low tactics. And if its a fair fight, they've lost. Even in the back of his mind now, I suspect he may be a little uncomfortable with his bedfellows.
[QUOTE=DonkeyRhubarb;1030534(E) I'm afraid I don't accept that bn66.co.uk has nothing to do with you. I have heard from someone who has spoken to you about the "solution". They even showed me a copy of a Barrister's opinion that you sought in relation to it.[/QUOTE]
I personally spoke to Tim Warr re the bn66.co.uk solution as I was looking at all options, he advised me in no uncertain terms it was devised by AJ.

What compelling facts/evidence/arguments could HMRC possibly have in their defence? I'm struggling to think of any.
Anyone care to play devils advocate?

i can only think the will use retrospection in this case is justified as its in the public interests due to the state of the public purse which negates any HR claims???
