    Ltd Company Sponsoring Me

    Can my ltd make a charity donation for an event I am involved in, ie sponsor me a couple of hundred pounds for a charity run ?

      It can make a donation to any charity that tickles its fancy.

        Don't forget that if you make a personal charity contribution the charity can reclaim (I believe) the tax paid on the income you donate from HMRC. There's some form you can fill in to allow the charity to do the reclaim.

        That is unless the rules have changed of course.

        If you do choose to make a company donation rather than personal one then just check with your accountant to see if there is a particular form or particularly tax effective way to do so.

          ISTM that it can make a donation to charity, but it can't sponsor you (in the sense of filling in a line on the collection form that you have) as you are not a charity. It would have to pay the money directly to the charity, not to yourself first.
