    Pathway Resourcing

Has anyone had any experiences working through these guys?

They are calling me regularly and offering job after job.... It just feels like hard sales.

Yep worked through them. Tried to stiff me on the notice period on the contract, but otherwise professional enough. They are very sales'y though! THe amount of times they tried to "Sell me" that I didn't need a notice period, I felt like the storm trooper in the first Star Wars movie...

"This is the notice perios you require, please move along"

They regularly send me mails for jobs that I have a good match for.

And then when I reply to them, they don't return my call.

      Go figure!

They also use the annoying technique of "having interview slots already lined up for 'tomorrow'", which, given that it appears to be bluff, I still don't understand what it is meant to achieve. How, collecting a list of people who are "desperate to reply quickly" helps them, when they then don't return calls to the people on this list, I really cannot work out.

They've just sent me a mail telling me that my details are out of date and I might get deleted from their database, "bring it on", I say.

Getting loads of these at the moment... one even asked me to meet for coffee to talk about what I'd been up to recently

Just sent a more up to date version of CV in case anything came up he thought I may be interested in - then we'll do coffee

          Yes, worked through them.

Their contract admin dept is rubbish and will tell you you don't need a notice period but they will change it, even if they say they never change their contract, it's bull they do.

Once your past the 28 day payment terms they pay weekly and regularly, can't fault them at all on paying.

Pathway are the biggest phishers going. They had 2 guys who constantly put jobs on jobserve. Only the jobs never existed and all they ever wanted was to know who you were currently working for etc, etc.

I'd avoid them like the plague.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

This part I understand. The aim presumably is to get a list of clients that are currently "in the market" for contractors. This is particularly pertinent to my specialisation; there are lots of clients where I previously could have walked into a contract, who are simply not recruiting (cons or perms) and haven't been for many years.

What I don't understand (as I've already said) is that they then "sugar" this (possibly, even probably) made up posting with "interview slots available tomorrow".

Doing that means that the vast majority of the responses (possibly all the responses) that they get are going to get will be from people who don't have current clients, so how does this achieve that aim?

I can tell you, the demand for my skills has been so dire since 2001 that I don't look for a new contract until and unless I absolutely need one.

All they do is collect CV's and approach clients for roles...They always have interview slots....hahahah

Sometimes they collect jobserve adverts and ask candidates if they are pursuing any and if they know who the client is ... they will approach the client and post an advert saying exclusive client
