It depend on what your company does; where it does it; etc. but generally you can claim:
      • Travel from home to site (check 2 year rule doesn't apply)
      • Mobile phone (should be in the company name)
      • Broadband account at home (should be a private use adjustment)
      • Use of Home as office if appropriate (allocated on a number of rooms and frequency of use basis)
      • Stationery and office supplies
      • Accountancy fees
      • Memberships and subscriptions
      • Capital allowances on laptops etc
      • Parking

You can also claim your office party which is relevant at this time of year!

Can we also claim lunch/dinner with Clients? Will that require actual bills or is there any small amount that we can claim without bills too?

        Thanks.

My understanding is that if it can be judged as everyday clothing (therefore even a t-shirt with a company logo on) it can't be put through, only clothes that you need for safety or protection are.

Can't remember seeing many people in gowns and wigs walking down the street....

My understanding is due to people taking the michael HMRC have generally ruled out entertainment expenses for corporate tax purposes. So if you entertain someone you should pay for it out of your own pocket as it's less paperwork.

You can claim breakfast and dinner when you are away from home or working a very long day and need to eat in the office. You can't claim lunch as everyone is expected to eat lunch and pay for it where ever they are. The food can be either cooked meals or from the supermarket but you need to have the receipts.

Under the Display Equipment Regulations you can claim an eye test (get your optician to write on the prescription it's for those reasons) and the reasonable cost towards "optical appliances" if you need them for working on a computer. So basically if you are long sighted you can probably claim the costs of a cheap pair of glasses however if you are short-sighted and wear the same glasses all day tough.

Depending on where you work i.e. at home you can claim the costs of an entire dedicated telephone line in the company's name however you should also have a domestic line as you are not suppose to be claiming your living expenses. You can also claim the entire costs of broadband if you are working from home. Again this should be in the company's name. (This means you will be on business broadband.)

You can claim training courses that are relevant to your business plus text books. The courses don't need to be technical but need to be relevant.

How does one go about claiming for home working? And what is the approx. benefit per day of doing this?

Office party - can one really do this? If so who can i "entertain" and bring to my "party"? (My LTD Co has only 1 director...a party of 1!). What is the HMRC limit that can be spent? Thinking of using this as idea to take my son out for a meal

I claim £50/month for utility bills for working at home, based on a formula I found somewhere based on how big your house is and how much you use for work, and how exclusively this area is used for work.

I was having dinner with a client, I would simply pay on my business credit card from MyLtd's business account. I'd keep receipts and have an email record of arranging to meet.
