    Business Bank Accounts

    Hi Everyone

As a new contractor I've just set up my ltd company and wondered if anyone had any suggestions regarding where to look for best rate/cheap fee business bank accounts.

    Thanks

I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt, not that fancy store-bought dirt... I can't compete with that stuff.

For the average one man band contractor you still can't beat Cater Allen

Cater Allen. No charges (for a typical contractor ltd) and good interest (for a business account).

I'm a convert to Cater Allen and had a nice surprise when I saw how much interest I had been paid for the year rather than discovering sneaky charges made by my own high street bank.

If you go Cater Allen then see if being referred by your accountant is worth it.

Cater Allen will charge a £10 monthly handling fee if your balance drops below £5000. This is waived if your accountant has an arrangement with them and had made the original introduction.

Also interesting to note that Cater Allen pay 0.5% of your annual average balance to the Accountant or whover referred you each year - may be worth asking them for a kickback

So what do CUK do with all these 0.5% kickbacks then?

Well I assume it goes towards running their business, and perhaps even making a profit.
