I actually see this as a positive. If HMRC were so confident of defending this they wouldnt even bother sending out snotagrams in the hope some people will run scared and pay up. Reckon they are hoping they can get some cash in the bank before the JR blows their entire case apart....

This is a very good point. When was the last time HMRC helped anyone? I do wishh I could say the stories my ex wife told about HMRC and entrapment.....

Maybe this will provoke an official letter from montp though? Would like to hear what they say about where we are - date for JR etcetc.

Hello all. Long time reader of this and the previous thread. Thanks for your input to date.

Spoke with Montp yesterday as I'm still yet to receive any CNs. Mentioned the JR and they reckon it won't happen until around February as apparently there is a lot of criminal legislation which will take precedence.

            We can but wait!

              The cheeky Bar-Stewards.

Wel, I still have a closure notice scribbled in pencil.
I also have a closure notice on a tax year that was not put under investigation in time and hence closed.

Time to place the dustbin or rotweiler under the letter box.

These sentences conflict with each other: Can anyone explain?

It would be very helpful if MontP issued a letter detailing the state of play.

Something simple about whether all accounts _have_ been done or not - and progression.

                JR status.

Any other useful info - especially about the upcoming annoying HRMC letter as well.

BP - As you seem to be in close contact with MontP, would you be able to effect something like this.

The HMRC status on accounts looks about right. Still no date for JR.

I can't think of anything else useful - and I hope they will not repeat what HMRC have said!

But, as I said, I still want something official from HMRC. And I think that the HMRC letter should be enough to get something.....

Most of what I get comes from asking sensible questions and co-operating with montp! I think I have posted a few times that I get cheesed off with the quality of some posts here - this is mirrored by the comms with montp.

My favourite was someone who asked what their outastanding exposure was - they got a reply straight back. They then asked why montp were replying to them - why not preparing accounts!! (this was at end JUly).

                    ooppps

In particular, where the only ground of appeal is alledged incompatibility with human rights, appellants are asked to note that the human rights act does not provide for the legislation to be set aside, even if a finding of incompatibility were made. The only remedy provided in that eventis a declaration of incompatibility. Such a declaration cannot be made by Gemeral or Special Commissioners, but only by the High Court or above.

                    Thats the paragraph in full....
