    Contracting in Rebulic of ireland

    Hi,

Ive just started a QA contract in the republic of ireland. The problem I have is that my limited company is based in england (business bank account is with natwest uk). Ill be getting paid into the business account in euros. Natwest say Ill be charged over 10% for this to be converted. Are there any business banks that do this for free? Or does anyone know of another way to get around it?

    Thanks

    C

I'm not sure there are any business banks that will do anything for free, especially currency conversions.

If you don't want to change banks, my advice is to open a Natwest Euro business account in your company's name. That should minimise, but will not of course eliminate, charges.

Details here: Natwest Foreign Currency Business Current Account

Well if NatWest charge 10%, then why not just set up a bank account in Ireland and then do an international transfer.

Normally you pay the spot FX rate or whatever is plus transfer charges (a lot less than 10%).

Are you sure they charge 10% ??
        I'm alright Jack
