Just checking, Ali. Some people have come unstuck in the past because they were claiming £x/day on the "advice" of their brolly but then couldn't substantiate it when HMCR came knocking.

You may want to re-read that contract from P4. The one I had contained a clause that says they're entitled to a minimum of £1500 in fees from you for the duration of your contract. So, if you quit after a month, they take their wedge and give you the change. I had a solicitor check it out and was advised I didn't have a leg to stand on. I was hounded by them to sign the original contract, and, as it was my first, I didnt really understand the consequences. I was also promised that weekly invoicing would arrive in the new few weeks. Utter tosh. I moved to ParasolIT, and have not had any problems whatsoever in the 12 months+ I've been with them. All I have to do is send my timesheets to my Agency, and the money arrives in my account about 10 days later. Parasol even send you a text message when the money's going in.

Having had experience of two of the three, then Parasol is heartliy recommended from me. Good luck extracting yourself from that other bunch of cowboys.

I just got a breakdown from NLL
They charge 2% for inside IR35 and 5% for outside IR35.

2% works out to be better than ParasolIT. Plus the list of benefits is more. Anyone here use NLL or got anything to say about them?

        please?

I havent actually signed any contract with P4 yet. Everything was done over the phone and managed to get them to confirm that they will pay me the £125 incentive* Not that its much.

*We will credit your Prosperity4 account with £125 (as a discount on your fees), once you have submitted 4 weeks worth of approved timesheets. This offer is valid until 31/08/2005. Prosperity4 reserve the right to remove this offer at any time without prior notification.
I was assured there is no leaving fee.

            P4, NLL and Parasol

            Ali,
I can see you are facing the same dilema I did when I first started looking, so hopefully this helps. I have been with NLL for the past 4 months, I myself investigated the 3 companies you mention and like yourself, my initial thoughts were to go with P4. I then found out from other contractors just how bad there service was. You are correct in respect that NLL will give you a higher return on your weekly/monthly take home then parasol, this I was told is down to the fact parasol can only offer a PAYE scheme to us (My agent informed of this). I have had no problems with NLL at all and I have already recommended 2 family members to them. Who have you been dealing with there???

Chap called Robert. He told be P4 was going down and to steer clear away and read up on them at blagger.com. I saw plenty on P4, but nothing on NLL. Thats why I came here. He sent me some calculations, but they dont tally up with their website calculator.

The girl at ParasolIT said she couldnt demote/defame another company as it wouldn't be professional of her to do so.

                Nll

I to myself dealt with Robert and I must say I am very surprised with your feedback on him. When I challenged him on P4 and others he gave me a very straight forward response in the fact that P4 do not offer a decent service and the fact that NLL could offer a higher return, questions I simply wanted to know.

Ali, the bottom line is I will always sing NLL praises whilst I am with them and whilst they are offering me a good service. The bottom line is that NLL offer a far better service then P4, and they offer you a higher return then Parasol.

Expenses is a murky area for people like us if we have not been used to doing them, so my advice to you, is to go back to Robert and ask him again how he has calculated your expenses, at worst he can tell you he got it wrong and do it again.

Stay away from P4, they are not going down, but they will bring YOU down. Go with NLL, from one contractor to another I promise you will enjoy a hassle free life with them.

                Hope this helps.

Rober has been very helpful. I shall be asking him about the difference in calculations tonight. I just thought it wierd that he knew where to get dirt on P4 but not where to get any sort of unbiased info on NLL.

I cant say service has been bad at P4, but if for no other reason than their 6% charge compared with 2% at NLL and also the fact that I get paid the next day at NLL and not at the end of the month as with P4 - thats plenty good reason to move. I just dont want to move now and find that I might have to do it again soon.

Need to make the right choice.

In all honesty if he directed you to blagger, try and call his bluff and see what dirt blagger offers about NLL. P4 have the worst reputation in the industry and it is not hard to see why, look how much dirt you have found on them in this site alone.

Whether you chose them or someone else, you wil always hope that the service is good.

To date I cannot proportion any faults in the direction of NLL, but bear in mind that could change tomorrow, it is the risk we all take.

                      P4

Was looking a P4 quiet closely. In the end was discouraged by 2 things.
No written quote. Never got to the bottom of how they were doing their math.
Also the pay date and time sheet submission deadline.
With my contract the client pays only when at least 4 weeks sheets have accrued. A combination of that and P4 meant I wouldn't see month for 7-8 weeks to start with!

And they came on with hard sell but in the end have stopped hearing from them.
