I claimed my last MP3 player.

I use it to record the contentious meetings on projects, so that I have an accurate record of who said exactly what. There are a few good ones recorded from this project if HMRC come calling.

HMRC release podcasts - how am I meant to listen to their valuable advice without an MP3 player?

Ummmm, yes, I have recently claimed an CD tv. I actually find it useful as a monitor for the PC so it has a double benefit, but obviously I'd only mention the business use of it as a monitor to HMRC.

I claim the rent where I live as it's away from home, but only claim meals out in the evenings, not the weekly shop fi I cook at home and if I date in teh evenings, I only claim half of the bill.

I also claimed the cost of decorating the home office already thanks along with just the essentials - table, chair and printer. I don't claim any bills for my main house though which maybe I am missing out on.

There's laods of little things like the Tom, Tom, part fo teh cars major service recently as the 80p per mile fuel I claim doesn't really cover such things, but these are fdairly minor. I'm looking for large items that you guys claim.

I always say that if I'm paying tax, I aint claiming enough expenses :-)

That will increase your tax bill straight away.

Anything above the HMRC set level (currently 40p for the first 10,000 miles) is a BIK.

In that case, why stop at 80p a mile?

Why not claim £80 a mile?? Or go and sign on and claim benefits at the same time as working? Maybe a spot of mugging on the side?

                    Every little helps.
