I agree 100% - this was reported on 5 live last week and they said it was up to £250 and that MP's could expense anything they wanted because the poor lambs have to run 2 houses if their constituency is away from London. Hence they have put through plasma TV's, IPods and pretty much anything they wanted. Or to put it another way, you and I have bought them these things.

So if I decide to buy a place near London for my employees to use, could I expense these type of items. Not bleedin likely - The IR would jump up and down all over this. Why do MP's get away with this? I guess the fact that they make the rules has something to do with it! The fecin cheating gits

As it happens there are some different rules. Whether that is right or wrong is a different matter although I am firmly in the latter camp.

However, they do have to fill out one of these (somewhat out of data admittedly).
