Whats the longest wait for VAT number?

Hi Im starting a new thread based on finding out the longest waiting period for a VAT number.

So far Ive been waiting since Mid July 2007. can anybody beat that?

My acountants have today told me that they have resubmitted my application? as this seems to have an effect of speeding up the process?

I think I can beat any record.

Application posted on 19/10/07 for flat rate sceme. Received certificate on the 26/10/07. 1 week!

I sent my application off to Wolverhampton on 22 October 2007 and got my registration certificate on 31 October - a total of 9 days.

I applied in mid April. Got the VAT number in end of October.

Sent deregistration forms off weeks ago. Nowt so far.

I am waiting for VAT reg since June.

I asked for voluntary reg October 2006

Endless bollox questions followed, so by May I withdrew voluntary & submitted statutory, as I was fast approaching threshold.
More bollox questions but finally received in August backdated to June
