Anyone got any better suggestions than Cater Allen at 5.99% for 3 months, for a six figure sum that I do not want to risk and do not want to tie up for more than 3 - 6 months at a time?

Obviously there rates changes every day, but at the time of writing...
Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander have 6.31% for 3 months (min £100k)

Close Brothers have 6.07% for 3 months (min £100k)

Feel free to phone around other banks, but due to the nature of these products most don't publish their rates on the internet

Got this in an email a short while ago... not quite as big as the other deposit rates mentioned here but if you want all the functionality of a current account...
