    IR35 and client party's

    Hi,

My client is organising a company do and has asked the contractors to come along as well.

Does this have any IR35 ramifications. ?

Obviously it'll have other ramifications, i.e. me getting p*ssed and telling the boss what a lousy job he's doing whilst groping one of the pretty secretary's.. but as long as it doesn't affect my IR35 status as I can reason with my boss but not HMRC..

If they are inviting all the contractors, then no reason. There is another thread on here somewhere about this - think the general opinion was that it would be OK and not really impact your IR35 status.

We've got something like this at my current gig. We have a monthly group update that contractors are allowed to present at but not attend...wtf?!

Just make sure they are inviting "contractors" and make sure they don't use your head towards the £150 tax free allowance and I see it as OK.

What difference would that make - the £150 a head is NOT just employees - it's employees or guests.
