Don't want to piss the agents off

    Hi all,

Just had a few offers come in for permanent and contract roles, however I still have some interviews lined up for this week and next.
I am not really sure as to what I should say to the agents, so I don't upset them, since I will not be going to the interviews.

Any ideas on how to best handle this?

    thanks

Just ring 'em and tell 'em you've got another gig. They are used to it so don't worry about upsetting the poor darlings. It's a far better approach than simply not turning up.

Can't you tell them that you have just received a very good offer so you won't be attending? I'm sure the agents would be more upset if you stood up their client.

Tell'em the truth that you got another offer. They are use to it.

I've done it many times. Just ensure when you are talking to them you get them off the phone by saying your busy, you have to go now and putting the phone down as they will start digging to find out who your client is.

Yes, just tell them firmly thanks but no thanks and say good luck goodbye etc. They are likely to get a bit stroppy and try to coerce you into still going, make you feel bad, get the other client's name etc. But as others have said it's better than just not turning up.

oh yeah of course, i will inform them before the interview, otherwise i will look bad to the client as well

I have a few offers on the table, the ones I decline, do you think that the client will be interested in hiring me in the future, or be pissed off, because I did not accept their offer?

No reason why not, it's just business.

As long as you haven't accepted an offer, it's no problems.
