I was thinking of purchasing sat nav and claiming thr total cost of it as a business expense (I travel around the country occasionally for work). Is there anything I need to be aware of if I do this?

if you it at all for personal use ever, you will have to pay BIK tax for it.
In general, if you travel 'occasionally' it is hard to justify it as a business expense. -
i got a sat nav when they first came out and was a stupid price of £499. I put it through company and everything went like a dream. I did honestly need it for business use as i was doing a hell of a lot of driving to other client sites that i had never been to.
Now i don't use it....Thats the way the cookie crumblesComment

There is another thread somewhere about this - if you pay for it out of company accounts, then does it need to be exclusively for the business?
Have a search - I can't remember what the conclusion was.Comment
