    SJD - named and... praised!!

    Hi All,

I'd like to do something that we dont often do on here...praise someone!!

I've been being investigated by HMRC for the last 18 months, and I've been battling hard with them...with the outcome being they wanted £11k off me for expenses they reckoned I shouldn't have been claiming.

I got SJD involved (well more to the point, Simon from SJD (who gets on this board) asked my branch to get more involved) and within a matter of weeks the issue has been resolved, and I now owe HMRC nothing

SJD are worth every penny, so to any newbie contractors out there, I would strongly advise you to sign up with them.

      hurrah! Well done them.

Even though all the SJD people I deal with tried to confuse me by all getting married and changing their names at roughly the same time.

here's some virtual beers to celebrate

(well there were, but my ASCII drawing sort of collapsed)

Nice one, SA. And a nice antidote to all the newbies who join just to post about how bad SJD are.

Do they charge for this additional service or its part of normal service ?

They haven't charged me a penny. I offerred to pay an additional charge for their extra services of writing letters etc, but they haven't charged me for any of it.

Very supportive, professional and invaluable service.

Any decent accountant worth their salt should help anyway they can. I'd say Insurance is far more important than any accountant.

                    Well done!

And well done too, to SJD. You have just won me over!

It just shows, doesn't it, that HMRC are more than willing to try it on. Even with nothing of any real substance to work with. I bet that meanwhile, some Earnest Saunders type (remember him? Only man ever to recover from Altzheimers. Guinness really IS good for you, it seems) is costing HMRC billions, and all they do is p1ss-w4nk about chasing-up pennies. Plus ca change.
