Quick Ltd Co bank account setup

Anyone have an experiences of getting a current account setup quickly. Its comming up to the end of the month and I need to get it setup asap.

I did some searching through old threads and someone noted that they poped into a local HSBC and got an account setup quickly (maybe more quickly than doing it online?).

I would prefer to go with Alliance and Leicester but it looks like they need more docs and proof of you and your company and this could take longer?

I could get the accountant to set it up but I am not convinced they would be quick.

PS: I have a good/long credit history in the UK.

Why not ask your current bank?

We have a company bank account with HSBC, it was a doddle to set up, however they did insist on seeing an original (or certified copy) of the certificate of incorporation before activating the account.

These days, with all the new money laundering laws that came in a couple of years ago, I reckon it will be highly unlikeley you will get a company bank account without having to prove that the company exists first.

I've just set one up with HSBC and they set it up the same day.

Also set up a deposit account with A&L and they took a couple of months.

I think it helps if you pick a bank that you (and any other signatories) have a relationship with already as they don't need to do so many checks.

All banks are going to want to see your company's certificate of incorporation and probably personal bank statements and proof of address etc if you are not known to them.

Cater Allen didn't need to see the cert - just proof of identity for the signatories. But they did take two weeks to set up the account:-(

in my experience i found both places i applied to needed sigs from the directors and secretary, as well as proof of identity and address for both.

My natwest account took over a month of dicking around back and forth before i got mine setup - its great now and the service seems very quick (i use telephone banking with the occasional call to a real person) but oh what a blxxdy hassle getting it set up.

I'd make sure with whatever you do, you are armed to the absolute teeth with ID for everyone and all that bumpf

It took A&L about a month to set mine up and I have a personal account with them. They wanted the usual docs, signatures and proof of identity but I've always had good service from them and their rates are at the top of the table...

Do not, on any account, use Natwest business banking service.
